This is an amazing restaurant, one of the best meals I've ever had, fantastic! We had tuna Tatare, so beautiful and a flavor bomb, the Greek salad was delicious, and we shared the seafood risotto, so fresh and delicious too. The service was exquisite, great atmosphere, we will come back each time we come to Chicago! Don't miss this place, it is 5 out of 5 stars!!!!!

I moved from Chicago to NYC in 2018, after having lived there for 15 years, And it's only now, returning as a visitor, that I finally made it to The Purple Pig. Definitely lived up to the hype. On the last day of my visit, I hustled over just in time to make the brunch menu. So glad I did, because I got the Patatas Bravas and...omg. SO GOOD. Kept me a bonafide member of the Clean Plate Club, down to the last drizzle of the spicy tomato sauce. I can never pass up an offer of pork belly, so this menu selection was inevitable for me. I'm also a fan of complex textures, so the deliberate combination of ingredients--pork belly, over-easy egg (I asked for egg whites only), potatoes, crunchy pickled onions--was a win, with the resultant complexity of complementary flavors. I didn't plan on dessert, but it never hurts to look at the menu, right? The almond cake with pecan gelato immediately caught my attention. I devoured it upon its arrival. I lingered long enough to welcome my hungry friend to join me. She missed the brunch menu but ordered calamari and, of course, dessert. She was also intrigued by the pecan gelato, which accompanied the pineapple crostata (my second choice, after the almond cake, so I was happy to be able try a bite!). Service was top-notch. Servers were pleasant, helpful, attentive; the manager stopped by to ask how we were doing; and the sommelier checked in as well. AND we had the best seats in the house: at the bar facing the grill where we witnessed the most well-choreographed, energetic, coordinated, professional cook staff turn out beautiful plate after beautiful plate, with a collective rhythm and pot-and-pan sizzling soundtrack that made my entire day. Go check them out.

Highly recommend this new restaurant! The location is a bit odd, and walking in through what feels like an office lobby isn't ideal, but once inside, the place is cozy with a great ambiance, and the food and service are top-notch. My husband and I used ChatGPT to find a spot for early drinks on Friday and an appetizer, but now we kind of wish we'd stayed for dinner. The tuna tartare was phenomenal and unique, and the Old Fashioned was spot on. We sat at the bar and had a great time watching a couple next to us enjoy a tasting experience. They tried over a dozen menu items, all of which looked amazing and seemed to make them very happy!

This place was truly one of my favorite food experiences in Chicago. I had high expectations from what I'd heard from others and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was nice, nothing special but it almost makes the food even more special. We got the papas bravas from the brunch menu and the pork belly on it was insane. I'll definitely be coming back for that. The ravioli with bone marrow also blew me away and my bf said it's the best ravioli he's ever had. He also really liked the beets and the beef tartare was so fun, smoke presentation and all! The cheesecake was fun and nice that it was so light after everything else. Lastly the espresso martini was just okay but it complemented everything else. The service was incredible; everyone was so nice and very attentive at all times. We'll definitely be back.

The restaurant has relocated across the plaza to a more spacious interior. Each dish has its own unique taste, especially the fried pig ear which is delightfully crispy and rare to find in the States. Most dishes we ordered were deep-fried and paired well with their accompanying sauces. The squid ink spaghetti was my favorite dish of the meal! I'll definitely revisit when I'm next in Chicago!

This place was a great surprise! Also recommended by a bartender at an Italian place down the street. I had the pork belly. It was much sweeter than I would have thought. Mostly just because of the glaze surrounding it. It was cooked perfectly. My partner had the half duck. This was the highlight of the dinner here!! It's a large portion so you can share with someone else if you'd like. It was cooked so well and was so juicy, tender and just absolutely delicious!!!! It comes with some buns so you can make sliders if you want, but I think it's perfect by itself, and way too amazing to be made into a little slider where the bread might hide some of its great flavor. We also tried the beef tartare which had quail eggs and capers , and caper berries. They added a lot more flavor and excitement to a regular beef tartare. Of course, I always feel like in almost every restaurant you never get enough bread or cracker for the amount of beef tartare, but don't worry you don't need it! It's just fine to eat with a fork all on its own!! Oh and it comes out in a dome enveloped in smoke! For drinks; Coconut Lime Daiquiri- not too impressed with this. But that's okay the wine was fantastic' Tried the Pinot Noir Avinyo Cava Brut Rose. I loved it! It is sparking, a little hint of rosey red in flavor and color and just light, refreshing and easy to pair with! My partner had the Pinot Noir Bow & Arrow. It was very tasty and also paired well with our meal. It had a more fruit forward flavor to it. We sat at the bar, and had excellent service. The bartender was more than happy to educate us on the history of the restaurant and any questions we had about food or drink! We arrived around 5pm maybe and it was fairly open at that time but filled up very quickly after that. I can't wait to return and try the bone marrow, pate, octopus, pigs ear, and smoked pork tongue!!

Another day and another restaurant for Chicago's Restaurant Week. Today, we were drawn to The Purple Pig. Upon entering, we were greeted by the friendly gentleman at the reception desk. The ambiance is warm and really welcoming. We were sat at a 2 top near the window. Restaurant Week menus are limited and at a lower cost point than normal. TPP is a restaurant the strives on tapa style and is meant to share each dish. We selected a bone marrow appetizer. For the main course we selected Seafood Risotto and Spanish Octopus. For dessert, we decided a pineapple pastry with ice cream. My wife didn't care for the bone marrow because the texture is like chewing on fat of a steak. But so cannot hold that against the Purple Pig because that's how bone marrow is supposed to be served. I found the marrow very tasty and bursting with flavor. Next was the Seafood Risotto. The shrimp, scallops, and mussels were phenomenal. Nothing had a fishy taste! The sauce and risotto were an excellent as well. Next, the Spanish Octopus was grilled nicely! The octopus wasn't fishy nor tough. Excellent!! The octopus was complimented by delicious chimichurri sauce. It was so good! Last, the dessert came and was phenomenal. The flaky pastry was perfectly baked with pineapple in the middle topped with. Scoop of delicious ice cream! Overall, the Purple Pig was delicious and the service was great!!! I'd definitely recommend them or frequent them again.

The Purple Pig is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Chicago. The dishes are always inventive and incredibly delicious. Service is always excellent and the atmosphere is exciting. You can't go wrong with the Crispy Pig's Ear, Chicken Thigh Kebobs, or literally any pasta dish on the menu. Don't sleep on the desserts - the Sicilian Iris is incredible (please bring it back!!). I definitely recommend making a reservation or you may have a lengthy wait. Parking is nearly impossible, so prepare to take public transit, ride share, or walk a good distance from your parking spot. I promise it's 100% worth the hassle of getting there though
